Danny,
I felt the same way when I helped Jim Huber plan and then attended the 45 year picnic @ Oak Meadow last year...and this year, too....you are right, we were and are a very special generation.  We had good solid parents who had been through the Depression, WWII and knew the value of a dollar and tried to instill good values in their children.  I am starting to sound like my mother when I long for those simpler times growing up in the 'Valley of Heart's Delight'.....thanks for sharing and glad you were able to attend.

To all who were on the committee, volunteered, or just showed up, I would personally like to thank you for three of the best days of my life.Having been gone for 46 years I was a little concerned if anyone would even remember me.Vicki ,Cathy and Gary had e-mailed me many times so I new a few ahead of schedule but was overwhelmed with our classmates.I can't express the fun I had seeing all of you but I can tell you it sure was worth going .
They say the WW2 people were our greatest generation and that might be true, but I would stack our generation up against the very best anyone else has to offer.I am proud to have graduated from a great school with great people as my peers! I am sure their are a lot of people in this world that would have loved to be in our place and at our time, but we were the chosen few ,in the golden valley. Thank God for our luck, and thank you for a great weekend.

The two events this year have been GREAT although attendance was below hopes.

Alumni from 68 and 69 attended the March Happy Hour!  Welcome!!

The Calistoga event is also low in reservations and will most likely be canceled on April 11th as three of the optional events have minimums of 50 with deposits required by April 15.  A few will still go to the Inn and Spa  AND there is LOTS to do in Calistoga.

 

Reservations for the Sept 12th Dinner are going great and that should be a fun event and weekend!

 

If your class of 66, 67, 68 or 69 has a coordinator, please have them contact me,

Effective July 1, 2008:  We have found 59 Classmates and

                                 confirmed that 7 others have passed away

George Miskulin, our Principal at Del Mar passed away last Monday at 84.

He had been married for 60 years.  He served in WWII as a paratrooper and received two purple hearts and The Bronze Star!  Obit was in the Mercury News at least Thursday and Friday.

A few decisions were made at the June 21 Steering Committee Meeting!! 

First meeting in 20 YEARS!

 

For 2008, Class of 1963 is planning for a picnic on September 6th, a Saturday. 

Hours at least 11AM til 4PM with Presentations/Program at 2:30PM.

Mark you calendar.  Be there!!

I am Jim Huber.  I started this parade to find all my friends.  Wonderful kids that I shared a very important part of my life with...

I was at the 20th Reunion...  Wonderful!!    It was great to see everybody!

I even won the prize for the least hair!!   :-(

I sent my money in for the 25th, only to be told... Cancelled -- Not enough interest...Money returned

So in May 08, I'm thinking it's the 45th and start trying to find out who knows where who is...  I end up starting this website..   I am receiving help from wonderful friends..  ...but... then I learned of some sad news - friends who have passed..  And some friends fighting illness..    And MANY who love life and where they find themselves in it...

So the positive part is.. 

WE shared some wonderful times  Life is love and love is life.. We can still hug and pray..

So perhaps my new goal...   I would love to see you again!

Hey send us a recent picture.  Taken between 2006 and 2008, of just you, close-up because at present the photos will not expand.   Perhaps that is good  :-)  And remember - Everyone is 63 or close.  This is especially important if you weren't in the 1963 yearbook and at least 54 were NOT! 

Plus MANY transferred to Blackford.
